I am a singer/songwriter who loves sharing my songs in an intimate setting for small audiences.  People often ask me what type of music I play.  I am a multi-instrumentalist (mainly piano and guitar) with a wide range of influences.  I love story telling and I would say that the story in each song decides what genre of music the song fits in to.  That said, my music has been described as folk, country, blues, pop, and even cabaret!

I first started writing songs while living in a small college town in Central Illinois.  I went to college to study Classical Voice, but found I was more interested in writing poetry and attending poetry slams.  Wishing to combine my writing with my interest in music, I bought a beat up guitar at a local pawn shop, learned to play it, and started writing my first songs. Since then I relearned my first instrument, piano, and compose regularly on both instruments.  What do I write about?  An array of topics ranging from the human heart to Greek mythology, songs inspired by history and literature, and even a murder ballad and an homage to Tonya Harding. I have been performing regularly since 2000 and have released several albums solo and with former bands.  You can listen to my original songs through this website or on my Reverb Nation page.  I play solo as well as in the rock duo Goblin Queen

While I am songwriter, I am also a music lover and entertainer.  I have a long list of public domain folk songs and songs by other artists that I cover.  Here are a few of the covers I play:

Wild Horses - Rolling Stones

Let It Be - The Beatles

Tango Til They're Sore - Tom Waits

Temptation - Tom Waits

You've Got a Friend - Carol King

That's the Way I always Heard It Should Be - Carly Simon

A Case of You - Joni Mitchel

Vienna - Billy Joel

Mary Jane's Last Dance - Tom Petty

My My, Hey Hey - Neil Young

Country Feedback - REM

Closer to Fine - Indigo Girls

Angel From Montgomery - John Prine

Long Black Coat - Bob Dylan

and more......

Currently based in Seattle, I look forward to playing at new venues and house concerts in the Northwest!
